Hike #4 & #5 (10 miler) - McAlpine/Campbell Greenway

Hike #4 only had one participant; Nathan. However, he completed the ten mile hike. Nathan has now completed the three required ten mile hikes and the 15-mile hike (see following). He is planning for the 20-mile hike, which will likely take place in early 2019.
Hike #5 took place on the same route as Hike #4 (McAlpine/Campbell Greenway) and included Nathan and James. Both Nathan and James completed the 10-mile hike and then added five miles (2.5 miles out-and-back) from the 10-mile finish, to complete their 15-mile hike.
The boys observed & learned about wetland habitats, wetland wildlife, stormwater management, sanitary sewer systems, animal awareness and safety, and basic orientation using a compass. They also stopped to read/learn about the Lucas Family Gristmill which operated during the Great Depression.
